Hi, I’m Dana.

A Los Angeles transplant by way of Pennsylvania, I specialize in PR and strategic communications for small businesses, nonprofits, artists and musicians.

In 2018, I launched The Plain English Consultant intended solely as a side business to help uplift the work of my creative friends. Since becoming my full-time endeavor in 2020, I have successfully executed marketing and publicity campaigns for numerous music and film creators, nonprofits and small businesses, as well as worked on contract to support top agencies in their media relations initiatives. These contracts include brand and PR strategy, media and influencer relations, pitching and more for leading brands in the tech, entertainment, CPG and lifestyle industries.

PR shouldn't be reserved for those with the deepest pockets — having worked with budgets ranging from $100-$100,000, I am skilled at delivering successful and measurable results on a shoestring. I believe in creating partnerships with purpose and leveraging stories to organically market organizations and their brands in a meaningful way.
